Conspect, a consulting firm based in the Netherlands, has partnered with Mendix for specialized application development projects. The seasoned consulting company will use the platform to target projects that require rapid implementation.  Management of Conspect sees a growing demand in the municipalities and insurance industries as an opportunity to expand their reach within the Netherlands. The partnership comes just in time for Conspect to resolve a growing dilemma for Dutch municipalities. The government structure in the northern European nation has grown into a complex, paper-based system slowed down by bureaucracy. At the lowest tier, citizens need easy access to information such as that regarding permits ranging from small renovation projects to property alteration.

The consulting firm hopes to solve this issue by harnessing the Mendix agile development methodology for a future proof and quickly implemented solution. Conspect ontwikkelt agile applicaties op basis van Mendix

Conspect is een partnerschap aangegaan met Mendix. Voornaamste reden hiervoor zijn de vele mogelijkheden die het Mendix platform biedt op het gebied van agile application development. Binnen de branches overheid en verzekeringen is er op dit moment veel vraag naar oplossingen die invulling kunnen geven aan de snel veranderende wetgeving vanuit de centrale overheid. Conspect heeft bij klanten goede ervaringen opgedaan met Mendix en ziet het platform als het middel om in deze behoefte te voorzien.

Veranderende wetgeving en bezuinigingen leggen een enorme druk op gemeenten waardoor juist nu de vraag naar projecten gerealiseerd op basis van agile development toeneemt. Een goed voorbeeld hiervan is de implementatie van de omgevingsvergunning (Wabo). De invoering zal een aanzienlijke verbetering (gemak) voor de burger met zich meebrengen maar de implementatie voor de overheid (VROM, Provincies en gemeenten) is complex en kostbaar. Conspect heeft hiertoe op basis van het Mendix platform een standaard Wabo applicatie ontwikkeld voor gemeenten.

Op deze wijze kan er tegen lage kosten in een korte tijd een Wabo-implementatie uitgevoerd worden.

HR On-boarding portals in a recovering economy: A source of opportunity

The first signs of recovery are usually the addition of a significant amount of new jobs generated by sectors across the economy obviously this stream of new employees needs to be managed. Research conducted by the Aberdeen Group, a leading provider of fact-based research focused on the global technology-driven value chain, concluded that implementing an On-boarding strategy that starts with engagement and thrives active collaboration from all relevant parties in all aspects of the business, will yield significantly better results in terms of profitability and customer satisfaction. Engaging the new hire early on in the On-boarding process will lead to:

• shorter time to maximum productivity

• a more engaged employee

Our solution attempts to make change…
Visitors were interested in our solution and commended the look and feel as well as the usability and flexibility. We were lucky to be able to show just how flexible Mendix is, and how useful the HRM portal could be for upper management who need to stay well informed.
