History

Mendix is founded in 2005 by a strong team with a background in Business and Computer Science. It originally started as a spin-off from the Technical University Delft and the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. We are an enthusiastic, highly skilled team of 40, including Cum Laude Informatics and Business Science graduates, 1 academic professor and multiple self-taught experts in business innovation.

The name Mendix comes from the verb ‘to mend’: “To repair, to restore, to improve and to correct”. Mendix repairs and improves your business processes, systems and the performance of your people. Our goal is to instantly improve your business by making it much easier to measure, extend, integrate, build and adapt business processes.
