Mendix Expands Global Headquarters in Boston, Aims to Double Local Staff

New space in city’s Innovation District to help company capitalize on tremendous market opportunity in enterprise application platform as a service sector

BOSTON April 17, 2014Mendix, the enterprise app platform as a service company, today announced that it has moved its global headquarters in Boston into a newly-renovated space that will expand Mendix’s local footprint and accommodate an anticipated doubling of its Boston staff in 2014.

The company recently moved to an 8,500-square-foot space on the fourth floor of 268 Summer St. in the heart of Boston’s Innovation District. The new location features a wide range of amenities, including high-beam ceilings, brick interior walls, a view overlooking the scenic Fort Point Channel and access to public transportation, restaurants and cultural resources.

Mendix’s move within Boston’s Innovation District comes at a time when the company is experiencing significant demand globally for its enterprise app platform.  In 2013, global SaaS revenues grew 115 percent over 2012, marking the company’s fifth consecutive year of triple-digit growth. On the heels of this growth, Mendix aims to double its Boston staff this year.

The company is primed for significant growth following the recent closing of a $25 million influx of new capital into the business. The Series B funding, led by Battery Ventures with participation from existing investor Prime Ventures, will fuel the company’s continued global expansion, product innovation and customer success.

“Our expansion in Boston, coupled with our recent round of funding and the accelerating adoption of the Mendix App Platform, showcases the great momentum we have achieved,” said Derek Roos, CEO and co-founder of Mendix. “Companies are crying out for a new way to deliver business applications faster and with better results. Our cloud platform takes the frustration out of the app-development process and revolutionizes application delivery. We are driving a major market opportunity and wanted to create an energizing space for our growing team.”
