Mendix 3.1.0 has been released
We are happy to announce that Mendix 3.1.0 has been released. Virtually all improvements are based on the feedback from you, our users, and so we thank you for helping us improve our technology!
As described in an earlier tech-tip the version numbering has changed and 3.1.0 is a minor release. This in contrast to the version 2 line of our technology where 2.4 to 2.5, for example, was a major release.
There is nothing minor about the list of changes, however! Eight new features, seventeen improvements of existing features and 59 fixes. Several of the features and improvements are related to version control that was introduced in 3.0.0. Merging has been made more intuitive and more powerful at the same time. You can merge from branch line to branch line or from main line to branch line and you can see which revisions have been merged before. Additionally, you can now revert deleting documents, folders and modules.
Another theme of this release was improving error messages and sanity checks to help you (and us) diagnose problems earlier. For example. the runtime now checks the version of the installed Java Runtime Environment for compatibility; it also checks whether the version with which the model was created is the same as the version of the runtime. And a warning is issued if you deploy to the Cloud Portal and the option ‘Emulate Cloud Security‘ is disabled.
There is a lot more included in this release. Check out the release notes in the Support Portal for a complete overview.
