Released: Quick Signup For The Mendix Platform Portal
Have you logged in to the Mendix App Platform today? You’ll notice the platform log-in, signup and password recovery wizards have an updated look and feel. But this is not only a cosmetic change; based on feedback from our user community, we simplified and streamlined the processes behind these wizards and added some helpful tips to make sure new users can sign up in just a few seconds.
New: Automated company association for new users
To make sure new users always find the company account that their team and colleagues are using, they will now be automatically assigned to a company based on the domain of their e-mail address. Our goal was to remove any potential confusion about company versus project invitations, and registering new company accounts while intending to join an existing company account.
We simplified the invitation wizards as well. From now on, you can invite others to either the Mendix App Platform, or to one of your projects. Mendix will automatically determine whether the invited person should sign up first, and will make sure they join the right company.
Note for existing customers: Our support department is proactively reaching out to companies with multiple accounts within the same company. If you don’t hear from us and have multiple company accounts that need to be consolidated, please contact us at support.mendix.com.
But wait – there’s more!
While we were at it, we also improved a few other components inside the platform: Buzz messages can now page through multiple embedded images, and you can even embed YouTube, Slideshare and Spotify urls as well.
We also addressed some open issues: In the feedback system, we fixed an issue where feedback response emails were not sent to users who did not have an account in the Mendix App Platform. Furthermore it is now possible to reopen closed feedback items. We also fixed several issues in our chat client and the stories API.
