Creating Portals That Adapt to Individual Funds

As one of the Netherlands’ leading pension providers, AZL handles the administration of more than 60 pension funds with more than 1 million participants. The group recognized that while their business model had historically focused on traditional operations, their customers’ preferences were changing. AZL needed to innovate its practices quickly to keep up with the market.


To improve the exchange of information with third parties, the organization launched an administrative portal for employers in late 2012. Looking to extend this self-service model to pension participants, AZL selected Mendix’s application platform to deliver the new portal in a much quicker, more agile fashion. Mendix was crucial to rapidly delivering a standard application that could then be adapted to each fund’s unique processes.
