Celebrating 43 New Mendix MVPs in 2025
In 2025, 43 new MVPs joined the ranks of our community’s top contributors, tipping us over 100 MVPs! Together, they made over 3.500 contributions, including videos, blogs, product feedback, and meetups, just to name a few. In this blog, we will highlight some of their most important and impactful contributions and celebrate that they have successfully completed their MVP Candidacy, earning the badge of recognition and the official MVP title.
Helping community members learn
One of our core community goals is to help developers advance their skills so they can build better, faster, and smarter for their customers. This year, MVPs such as Erick Souza, Mitchel Mol, Mustafa Karaaslan, and Bartosz Hetmanski, along with many others, created expert-level educational videos that have supported thousands of developers in deepening their Mendix knowledge. Their commitment to sharing expertise ensures our community continues to learn, evolve, and innovate.

Supporting Mendix’s biggest security event of the year
Capture the Flag 2025 is the largest Mendix security event of the year—and once again, our MVPs played a crucial role in its success. From designing security challenges to hosting global locations and assisting with event logistics, their support took this year’s event to a whole other level.
MVPs Wouter Penris, Mitchel Mol, and Rene Hofwegen collaborated closely with Mendix to organize the Rotterdam event, where Marius van der Knaap, Stephan Bruijnis and their team secured the top prize for the EMEA region.
Additionally, MVPs Patrick Bornier, Neel Desai, Chelsea Veenstra, Harmjan Oonk, Nuno Costa, Ricardo Pereira, Bartosz Hetmanski, Jan Schneider, Derek Gardiner, Nico Mouton, Nour Abu Asal, Kasja Maksymiak, Emiel Hoosten, Jiri Reitmann, Mustafa Karaaslan, and Taner Gedikoglu strengthened the event’s reach by hosting satellite CTF locations in their regions—bringing Mendix security learning to local communities across the globe.

Reaching new audiences through public sector Meetups
This year also marked an exciting expansion of our community efforts into the public sector. MVPs Sjors Hak, Sophie Bakker, Thijs de Jong supported with organizing three Public Sector Meetups, opening the door to a completely new audience of developers and increasing engagement within governmental and public organizations. This work is especially significant, as it brings the power of modern app development to sectors where digital transformation has an enormous impact.
It’s been a busy, impactful year for MVPs and the Mendix developer community alike.

Shaping Mendix products and features
Being an MVP means having a direct voice in the future of the Mendix platform. Throughout 2025, MVPs participated in two Product Discovery Days, multiple deep-dive product sessions, workshops, roadmap previews, and exclusive discussions with CEO Ray Kok and the Mendix Product Management teams.
Their real-world insights are critical. MVPs help us understand how features perform in practice, where we can improve, and what innovations will deliver the most value to developers and businesses. Their influence is felt across the platform—from small improvements to large feature decisions.
