CIOs who  communicate value can create more value; interactive webinar will show you how

BOSTON – December 5, 2013 – Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced plans to host an interactive event titled “Communicating IT’s Value to the Business,” featuring Dr. George Westerman of MIT’s Center for Digital Business (CDB). The webinar is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. EST.

Westerman is the author of the book “The Real Business of IT: How CIOs Create and Communicate Value,” and he currently leads the MIT CDB research portfolio on Digital Transformation. During the executive webinar, Westerman will explore concepts from his research, including the “IT is a cost” mindset, and how CIOs can do a better job communicating value and accomplishments rather than defending budgets and missed project deadlines.  He will also reveal how CIOs can change their roles from order taker to strategic business partner by communicating about the right kinds of value at the right times.

Going beyond traditional webinar formats, this event will feature an interactive discussion with George Westerman.  Attendees will have an opportunity to help shape the conversation by submitting questions directly to the expert.  Questions can also be submitted prior to the event by tweeting @Mendix.
