Box and Mendix Partner to Accelerate Development of Enterprise Apps

Mendix’s low-code development platform empowers enterprise developers to rapidly extend Box with custom web and mobile applications

Redwood City, CA and Boston, MA – February 9, 2017 – Box (NYSE: BOX) and Mendix today announced a partnership that brings together Box’s leading enterprise content platform with Mendix’s low-code, rapid application development platform. The two companies are providing a fast, easy way to build and deploy custom web and mobile apps that operationalize Box content and make it available in any business process on any device.

Under the new partnership, Mendix and Box will jointly develop reusable industry solutions to address common business processes, such as project planning, field worker enablement, case management, claims management and clinical trial management. These reusable templates can be easily deployed or extended by joint partners and customers. Box and Mendix will work closely together to develop and support a tight integration between both platforms, including a Box Connector that is available in the Mendix App Store.

“With technology transforming every aspect of business, organizations must deliver engaging, digital experiences for their customers, partners and employees,” said Jeetu Patel, Box Chief Strategy Officer and SVP Platform. “We chose to partner with Mendix because the platform is the enterprise standard for rapid application development, enabling developers of every skill level to quickly extend the power of Box and accelerate their digital business initiatives.”

“Content is the lifeblood of next-generation Smart Apps powering intelligent, contextual and proactive user experiences,” said Derek Roos, Mendix CEO. “Together, Mendix and Box are helping enterprises drive digital innovation and transformation by dramatically reducing the time and effort required to build content-centric web and mobile applications.”

This powerful combination of Box and Mendix is already adopted and proven by enterprise customers across North America and Europe. These organizations are delivering a variety of workflow applications, document automation solutions and self-service portals, typically in days or weeks compared to months for traditional approaches.

“Looking to increase the speed, quality and accessibility of the solutions we provide our customers and employees, Endemol Shine Group has embraced a cloud-first, multi-channel application strategy,” said Leon Backbier, ICT Manager, Endemol Shine Group, a global production powerhouse creating world-class content for all platforms. “For these reasons, we have adopted Mendix for rapid application development and Box for secure file sharing.
