EPI-USE Partners with Mendix to Extend SAP with Rapid Application Development Capabilities

Global IT consulting firm EPI-USE counts on the Mendix App Platform to quickly extend SAP and build standalone apps

BOSTON March 5, 2015EPI-USE, a global organization that specializes in SAP and SuccessFactors solutions, today announced a partnership with Mendix, the enterprise application Platform-as-a-Service (aPaaS) company. EPI-USE is using the Mendix App Platform to more quickly and flexibly extend client SAP implementations with multi-channel apps, as well as to build standalone solutions that meet unique business needs.

A global consulting firm with a 30-year track record and nearly 1,000 employees, EPI-USE combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of enterprise applications to develop unique solutions for clients. Increasingly, the company found that traditional development approaches were inadequate for delivering new cloud-native, multi-channel applications as fast and flexibly as required by the business.

To address these needs, EPI-USE is leveraging the Mendix App Platform across its portfolio of solutions and services and building a practice of skilled Mendix developers. Using Mendix’s signature, visual development capabilities, EPI-USE consultants can rapidly extend SAP and other core systems with multi-channel applications. They can also build standalone apps that meet a variety of business needs, including employee productivity, business process and workflow and customer engagement.

“There is an unbelievable amount of latent potential trapped in existing enterprise systems,” said Rowan Hinton, Vice President, Reporting and Analytics at EPI-USE. “Mendix provides EPI-USE with a faster, easier way to extend and mobilize these systems, driving successful digital transformation and immediate business value for clients. While business moves fast, Mendix allows us to move even faster to stay ahead of demand for web and mobile apps.”

Joint Project Underway at Large Higher Education Client

The partnership between EPI-USE and Mendix has been immediately productive, with a joint project underway at a large client in the higher education space. Specifically, EPI-USE is using Mendix to build several enterprise applications, including:

  • An expense management application with mobile receipt capture, complex workflows and integration with SAP and other disparate systems
  • A compensation analysis tool that integrates with SAP to provide visual data analysis capabilities
  • A standalone vacation tracking app that eliminates spreadsheets and manual processes

“EPI-USE is a great addition to our partner community, and we look forward to the relationship growing based on our joint track record of success,” said Mark Rogers, VP of Business Development at Mendix. “Mendix provides partners like EPI-USE with a game-changing approach to application delivery that gives them an edge in competitive situations and, in turn, helps their clients innovate and compete in their markets.”
