Kwik-Fit selects Mendix to maintain competitive edge in automotive service market

Mendix today announced that Kwik-Fit, the automotive service chain, has chosen the Mendix model-driven software platform to automate the business processes related to Kwik-Fit’s fleet business in the Netherlands. Kwik-Fit’s decision was the result of an extensive selection process.

The Kwik-Fit Group is the largest independent automotive parts, repair and replacement specialist in Europe and one of the largest in the world. With 2,300 service outlets across Europe, it employs 9,000 people.

Changing market conditions make it necessary for Kwik-Fit to continually find ways of optimizing its business and reducing costs.

Paul Traas, financial manager at Kwik-Fit in the Netherlands said: “Kwik-Fit has very high standards for service quality, process efficiency and internal informational service. This is the only way for us to manage costs and to remain successful in the market.”

“Kwik-Fit is also a unique company with very high demands in terms of flexibility and quality of its IT,” Mr Traas added. “The Mendix platform enables us to adapt our processes in a fraction of the time, and therefore the costs remain controllable.”

According to René ten Hove, Kwik-Fit’s ICT manager in the Netherlands, “Kwik-Fit has a clear vision of how processes and informational services should be automated and controlled. After a successful proof-of-concept, we selected the Mendix platform for supporting Kwik-Fit’s fleet-related processes.”

“Mendix offers us not only future-proof solutions; it also provides the necessary development power and flexibility,” Mr Ten Hove added. “This makes Mendix perfectly compatible with our process vision and IT landscape.”

Derek Roos, Mendix CEO said; “We are of course delighted that Kwik-Fit has decided on the strategic roll-out of Mendix software throughout its organization. We are convinced that model-driven software development is the future, and Kwik-Fit’s choice goes a long way to confirm this. We are also confident that its decision will give Kwik-Fit the competitive advantage it is seeking.”
