Mendix Announces Marcel Karssen as Chief Financial Officer

Software industry veteran adds 30 years of corporate leadership to advance the growing, global market interest in the Mendix App Platform

Boston, MA June 04, 2012 – Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, announced today that Marcel Karssen has been named Chief Financial Officer. Karssen has joined the executive leadership team and is responsible for managing all financial and operational aspects of the business.

After previously working in senior roles at PROLIN/HP, Oracle and Q-go, Karssen joined Mendix direct from his most recent role as Vice President for EMEA Customer Experience and Operations at RightNow Technologies. In addition to his corporate experience, Karssen has played an entrepreneurial role in a number of start-up IT companies as both founder and interim manager.

“The Mendix App Platform addresses many of the pain points that are consistent across the board for businesses looking to reduce time and cost when developing applications fit for the needs of the enterprise,” said Karssen. “I am excited to being part of a visionary team that truly can address such critical business needs and can deliver a huge and lasting value to its customers.”

The addition of Karssen comes directly on the heels of Mendix achieving record revenue growth in 2011. The company attributes the growth to international expansion and an increasing market need for improved business application delivery. This success was achieved through greater adoption of the Mendix App Platform™, allowing companies to build, integrate and deploy enterprise applications at a tremendous cost savings and speed.

“Marcel’s wealth of experience is something that we are proud to add as part of the Mendix team,” said Derek Roos, CEO of Mendix. “As we continue to drive industry leadership through the Mendix App Platform, Marcel’s expertise will be an exceptional asset to help our fast growing company to achieve its strategic goals moving forward.”
