Mendix Introduces Mendix 5 – Powering the New Era of Business IT and Cutting Down App Development Time from Months to Days
High-Productivity Platform Enables Companies to Respond Faster to Business Change with Custom, Multi-Device Applications
BOSTON – June 19, 2013 – Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced the launch of Mendix 5 – a major upgrade of its groundbreaking Application Platform as a Service that has helped hundreds of companies around the world cut development and deployment time for business apps from months down to days.
The Mendix App Platform dramatically speeds up the building of business apps by eliminating code from the development process, providing a simple, one-click-deployment capability, and bringing business and IT departments within enterprise organizations together on one platform. The combination generates applications faster and more efficiently, improving user experience and providing results in days.
“Competitive pressures are forcing businesses to react more quickly, and they don’t have time to wait months or years to get business apps working for their organizations,” said Derek Roos, founder and CEO of Mendix. “Mendix 5 will allow companies to take advantage of more opportunities and innovate faster. Our platform puts business and IT on the same page, enabling them to deliver the business applications they need, faster, across multiple devices and with the user experience they’ve come to expect.”
Mendix 5 – Powering the new era of IT
Companies around the world are constantly challenged by technology and business change. Long planning cycles for IT projects are no longer acceptable – companies need to be able to respond to the needs of their customers, partners or employees in days, not months, with applications that truly support their business needs no matter where they are.
“The rapid rise of mobile, social and cloud computing are opening up tremendous new opportunities for enterprises to enter new markets, create competitive advantages and drive operational efficiencies. But capitalizing on these opportunities requires new applications that are unlike the applications AD organizations have built in the past,” Gartner analyst Ian Finley, et al. wrote in the report “Agenda Overview for Application Development, 2013” published in January 2013.
