Mendix Named a Visionary for Second Year in a Row in Gartner 2016 Magic Quadrant for Mobile App Development Platforms

BOSTON – June 30, 2016 – Mendix, the leading cloud platform for rapid application development and delivery, announced it was once again named a Visionary in the Gartner “Magic Quadrant for Mobile App Development Platforms” report (June 2016). The Mendix platform helps enterprises accelerate digital innovation by allowing them to build and deploy fully responsive, multi-channel applications much faster and more easily than any other approach.

MADP 2016According to the Magic Quadrant report, “Mobile app development is at the forefront of digital business transformation strategies. Mobile apps are driving new compelling interactions, profound business model innovation (or renovation), and deep insights to improve business processes and workflows. Once an organization starts building and delivering mobile apps, demand across the enterprise inevitably grows.”

Mendix’s multi-channel delivery approach enables organizations to build applications once and run them anywhere, eliminating the cost and complexity of supporting multiple platforms and devices while accelerating new digital initiatives. Developers without specific mobile expertise can leverage native device functionality, fully responsive design and offline mobile support through Mendix’s signature model-driven development approach.

Announced last week, and not part of Gartner’s MADP evaluation, Mendix 7 includes enhanced capabilities for delivering a native mobile experience, including Smart Sync enabling users to select when offline data is synced, enhanced push notification services and an expanded selection of Native Widgets, including Add to Contacts, Add to Calendar, Native Share, Estimote Beacons, Navigate To, Splash Screens, DeviceId and Vote. Combined with new drag-and-drop connectors to IoT, big data and machine learning platforms and services, these capabilities empower developers to build context-aware Smart Apps that make recommendations and proactively interact with users wherever they are, via push notifications, chat bots, plugins, etc.

“We believe our recognition as a Visionary confirms our approach to driving digital innovation, providing enterprises with the fastest and easiest way to deliver Smart Apps that work across platforms and devices,” said Derek Roos, CEO and co-founder of Mendix. “Mendix is uniquely positioned to empower today’s enterprises to achieve their digital goals — to transform their operations, customer experience and business models.”
