Mendix opens U.S. office to service growing demand for Portal software

Software company Mendix has launched a U.S. subsidiary, Mendix Inc. The U.S. operation is located in Cambridge, MA. With a European Head office in the Netherlands, the Cambridge office is the company’s second office. The main focus of the Cambridge office will initially be the health insurance industry.

Mendix chose Cambridge as location for the US Head office because of the proximity to university researchers combined with the availability of venture capital. The sales, service and marketing will be managed in the U.S., where Mendix’s R&D division is kept in Europe.

CEO Derek Roos is confident about Mendix entering the US market. ‘After a very successful start in Europe, we are now targeting the large enterprises in the U.S. So far we’ve tripled our revenue every year and in order to stay on this track, we have to enter a new market. Expanding our operation to the U.S. is in the most logical step for us to take.’ He added that American enterprises face the same challenges as European companies.

Mendix Inc. COO Han Pieter Duyverman, who will lead the U.S office: “American enterprises face the same challenges as European companies. Just like we see in Europe, there is a growing demand on the American market for portal software that will automate complex processes. Mendix has a strong solution for this demand and I’m excited to introduce our Portal Platform in the U.S. ‘

Mendix Inc is a software company that delivers the Mx Portal Platform, a scalable portal platform that allows organizations to create a unified interface across multiple applications. The Mx portal platform is used by customers to create transaction portals that allow real time collaboration with Customers, Business Partners and employees.

The Mx Portal platform consists of a visual modeling environment for data and workflows, an XML application server, a rich Ajax based interface and a connectivity framework to integrate with other data stores.
