Mendix Placed in the Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platforms as a Service

The Company’s High-Productivity aPaaS Ranked Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

BOSTON – January 16, 2014 – Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced it has been placed in the newly published “2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platforms as a Service (aPaaS)” by research and advisory firm Gartner, Inc.  Mendix’s inclusion in the Jan. 7, 2014, report is based on the company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute.

This is the first time Gartner has evaluated the Enterprise Application Platforms as a Service technology landscape.  According to the report, “An aPaaS that is designed to support the enterprise requirements for business applications and application projects is an enterprise aPaas.” In reference to the developer experience, Gartner delineates two categories of aPaaS: high-control and high-productivity.

The Mendix App Platform fits squarely within the high-productivity aPaaS category, and empowers businesses to build and deploy powerful multi-device applications in record time.  By combining rapid, model-driven development, social collaboration, agile project management, enterprise integration, and secure cloud deployment, Mendix seamlessly supports the entire application lifecycle, eliminating the traditional bottlenecks, costs, and risks associated with application delivery.

“We believe being positioned in the first Gartner Enterprise aPaaS Magic Quadrant is important recognition for Mendix,” said Derek Roos, CEO and co-founder of Mendix.  “We are proud to be one of the five high-productivity application platforms as a service recognized in the report.  It’s clear that there is tremendous need  for aPaaS solutions that not only facilitate deployment, but radically simplify and accelerate the development process, allowing businesses to better capitalize on market opportunities and respond to change.”
