Mendix Announces Hackathon, Expanded Program and Speakers for Mendix World 2014

Hackathon participants will develop applications with Mendix to provide immediate business value for global humanitarian organization Terre des Hommes

BOSTON March 3, 2014Mendix, the app platform company for the enterprise, today announced the inclusion of a hackathon along with additional speakers to the program for Mendix World 2014, the company’s premier global event for users, customers, partners and IT professionals. The conference is scheduled for April 3-4, 2014, at the Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Mendix World 2014 Hackathon, co-sponsored by Capgemini, will challenge teams of developers to create innovative solutions that address real needs faced by charities around the world, such as Terre des Hommes, a global organization whose mission is to come to the aid of children in need. Beginning the evening of April 2nd, participating teams will build applications over a 24-hour period, with the Mendix World audience voting for the ultimate winner. The winner will receive the Mendix Hackathon Award 2014.

Hackathon participants working in small teams of 2-3 developers will be mentored by Mendix experts, and will have a collaborative workspace and free use of the Mendix App Platform and cloud environments, as well as entertainment and plenty of food, snacks and beverages for the long night. Participants can also attend Mendix World for free.

The Hackathon extends the Mendix World 2014 program which features a mix of inspiring and practical sessions around app delivery success strategies and best practices, the future of application Platform as a Service (aPaaS), and new features of the Mendix App Platform.
