Mendix Congratulates BDC on Winning Prestigious OCTAS Innovation Award for Business Transformation

Leading platform for digital innovation enables Canadian bank to deliver core lending system, improving business agility and customer centricity

BOSTON and MONTREAL September 17, 2015Mendix, a leader in driving digital innovation and provider of application Platform-as-a-Service (aPaaS), congratulates the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) on winning the 2015 OCTAS Award for the transformation of the Canadian bank’s organizational processes. The OCTAS competition, organized by the IT ACTION Network, recognizes companies and organizations for their creativity, vitality and exceptional contribution to the growth of the information technology industry.

BDC, Canada’s business development bank and the only financial institution dedicated exclusively to entrepreneurs, won the award for a business transformation project it undertook, harnessing the Mendix platform and agile methodology to increase the bank’s speed, agility and collaboration between business and IT. Using Mendix, the team delivered a core lending system for loan origination, administration and disbursement that has reduced processing time and overhead costs while helping BDC become more nimble and customer centric.
