Low-code Development Without Compromising Your Architecture Strategy
Low-code Development Without Compromising Your Architecture Strategy by Jasper van der Hoek
“Drive digital business transformation with hybrid cloud, analytics, and enterprise applications.”
This is the tagline for Gartner Catalyst on August 20-23 in San Diego, which highlights the many different areas organizations should focus on: the need to transform, adopt the (hybrid) cloud, and adopt analytics to develop smarter applications. All these areas can help you drive new business and lead in your market space.
However, there are many things you can do today to drive this business transformation, many technologies you can leverage, and many ways to implement these technologies. The challenge is making the right choices for your business.
To get the most value out of the transformation, it’s important to keep focusing on the business value. Technology is important, but it’s not the goal. Driving cloud adoption and automation is key to enabling operational improvements, but make sure to focus on solving the business problem. The challenge will be to identify the most valuable business transformation opportunities.
In a few weeks, I will be speaking at Gartner Catalyst about what approaches our most successful customers are taking and what you should look for when choosing the right technologies.
Not all low-code platforms are created equally
When evaluating a low-code platform, choose one that aligns with your strategy. Don’t make your strategy fit in with your technology choices. Make sure you think about a platform that:
- Is future ready
- Is cloud-native
- Is easy to automate
- Can fit in with any company strategy
- Has a strong ecosystem
