Mendix sponsors the ACORD Implementation Forum

Mendix sponsors the 2008 ACORD Implementation Forum (AIF) and successfully demonstrates its model-driven Insurance platform.

AIF is a unique gathering for those actively or planning to implement ACORD standards. The AIF is a hands-on standards implementation event with separate tracks for business and technical implementers as well as sessions for novices and experts. Topics included mapping and conversion capabilities to ensure ACORD compliance, Web services, self-service (agent and client) portals, and overall reduction of development and maintenance cost.

Attendees took the opportunity to acquire more information about model-driven development in the Insurance Industry. Not only did Mendix share thoughts on Insurance 2.0, but we also demonstrated how our technology helps current Insurance companies in Europe and in the US with their daily activities and challenges. The Mendix Model-driven Application Platform has all the capabilities to create ACORD Compliant Insurance applications, allowing you to integrate with all the stakeholders in the Insurance value chain, deliver applications your business really needs and drive efficiencies.

During this event, representatives of mid-sized and large Insurance companies became familiar with the fact that Model-driven development provides them:

  • All the capabilities to create ACORD Compliant applications;
  • Translate relational data to ACCORD Compliant XML structures;
  • An infrastructure to support phased implementation of ACORD standards;
  • Mapping and conversion capabilities to enhance and enrich data and ensure ACORD compliance;
  • Integration of data from across the value chain;
  • Overall reduction of development and maintenance costs.

The main benefit of our Model-driven approach is that you can model your data-requirements, create a rich user-interface, implement complex workflows and business rules and leverage existing data-sources to create an enterprise class web application that can integrate third party data into workflow. Advanced mapping and conversion capabilities allow seamless integration of third party data and by exposing information as a web-service; third parties can work with your data.

Mendix enables Insurance and IT professionals to define their requirements in visual models that can instantly be translated into enterprise class, web-based applications that support your unique processes. Unlike other platforms, the Mendix Model-driven Application Platform allows insurance experts to actively take part in the development cycle.

Mendix would like to thank everyone who attended the ACORD Implementation Forum in Ft. Lauderdale in October. As a proud sponsor of this ACORD event we hope you found the program helpful and informative. We certainly enjoyed meeting you in person!

We look forward to meet again. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or requests.
