Multi-tenant platform services, new launchpad, and advanced enterprise app platform management for multi-app deployments add new dimension to the Mendix App Platform

BOSTON and ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – October 5, 2012 – Mendix is pleased to announce the release highlights of Mendix 5, the latest iteration of its app platform for the enterprise, today. Formally announced at Mendix World 2012, the premier company event taking place this week in Rotterdam, the new release will make it easier and faster for business-side developers and power users to build and deploy multiple web and mobile apps while providing enterprise security and control for IT in one centralized place.

The App Launchpad within Mendix 5 also adds integrated platform services to the market leading Mendix App Platform, providing end users a more efficient way to access web and mobile business apps, collaborate, and work with multiple interconnected apps all within the same user environment.

Mendix 5 Highlights:

  • Multi-tenant platform services make multi-app deployments efficient and enable social productivity across apps. Shared platform services will be available across all apps running on the Mendix App Platform. Platform services include messaging, notifications, workflow, chat, and user management. This makes development and deployment of multiple apps with a company much easier and more efficient.
  • The App Launchpad provides immediate access to shared app services and provides an engaging, single user experience and one single point of entry for all enterprise apps. This increases usability, user adoption, collaboration, and efficiency for end users across the enterprise.
  • New Enterprise Administration features will allow administrators to better manage large user communities manage multiple apps and app environments across the entire organization.
