Mendix Opgenomen in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise aPaaS
Rotterdam, 16 januari 2014 – Mendix, ontwikkelaar van het gelijknamige bedrijfsapplicatie-platform, is opgenomen in het eerste Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Application Platforms-as-a-Service (aPaaS). Mendix dankt zijn positie in deze ranking van onderzoeksbureau Gartner aan de complete visie en het vermogen om die uit te voeren.
Gartner evalueert dit jaar voor het eerst het technologielandschap van Enterprise Application Platforms-as-a-Service. In het onderzoek wordt Enterprise aPaaS beschreven als een cloud-service ‘die ontworpen is om de enterprise-eisen voor business-applicaties en applicatieprojecten te ondersteunen’. Ten aanzien van de ontwikkelaarservaring onderscheidt Gartner twee categorieën van aPaaS: high-control en high-productivity. Het Mendix App Platform valt midden in de high-productivity aPaaS-categorie, doordat het bedrijven in staat stelt om in recordtijd multi-device applicaties te bouwen.

Mendix blinkt uit als high-productivity aPaaS door de combinatie van rapid model-driven development, social collaboration, agile-projectmanagement, de sterke enterprise-integratie en veilige cloud-deployment. Daarnaast ondersteunt Mendix naadloos de complete applicatie-lifecycle, terwijl het de traditionele bottlenecks, kosten, en risico’s vermindert, die vaak worden geassocieerd met applicatieontwikkeling.
