Release 11.7 – Zero Downtime, AI Tools & React Ready
Release 11.7 brings some game-changing updates that address real developer pain points—from eliminating service interruptions with Zero Downtime deployments to making AI workflows more transparent with visual trace charts. Whether you’re working with React clients, building offline-first mobile apps, or managing enterprise-scale deployments, this release has something that’ll make your development life easier. Let’s dive into what’s new and how these updates can streamline your next project.
Mx Model Reflection now fully ready for the React Client
Mx Model Reflection is an essential module for developers who need to inspect entities, attributes, and microflows directly from their applications. Many Marketplace modules rely on it, so having a version that works seamlessly in modern Mendix applications brings immediate value. This update ensures that developers can move forward with the React client without needing workarounds or customizations.
The module was already largely compatible with the React client and used modern widgets for most functionality. The only exception was a set of legacy selection pages that existed purely for backwards compatibility with older modules. These outdated components were the final blockers preventing the module from being fully aligned with current Mendix standards.
With the latest update (9.1.0), these legacy selection pages have been removed. This simplifies the module and brings it completely in line with the React client. Developers can now use Mx Model Reflection in any new or existing Mendix projects knowing that everything runs on modern components without extra effort.
Enhanced Data Widget Control
The new Data widgets v3.8 release is not introducing one or two, but three powerful enhancements to the Data grid 2 and Gallery widgets!
Custom pagination
Data grid 2 now supports fully customizable pagination, giving you complete control over how users navigate through your data. Instead of standard paging buttons, you can design your own pagination interface using any combination of buttons, input fields, or custom widgets with your preferred styling. The Data grid 2 widget exposes current page, total rows, and page size as bindable properties, allowing you to connect them to page variables or entity attributes. This opens up powerful possibilities like dynamic page sizing, custom navigation logic, and pagination controls that integrate seamlessly with your application’s design system. We will introduce this feature for Gallery in our next release.
Auto-select first row
We’ve brought back the auto-select feature from Data grid 1, automatically highlighting the first row when data loads. This is particularly valuable for master-detail interfaces where a data view displays details of the selected item, eliminating the extra click users previously needed to see content.
Gallery refresh timer
The Gallery widget now includes an auto-refresh timer, matching the functionality available in Data grid 2. This enables real-time data updates for dashboards and monitoring interfaces without requiring manual refresh actions.
Mobile
Make It Native updated for Mendix 11.6
We are excited to announce that Make It Native, the companion app for testing Mendix native mobile apps during development, has been updated to support Mendix 11.6. This update ensures that developers can seamlessly keep their native mobile projects aligned with the latest Mendix MTS version, making development smoother and more reliable. To download or update Make It Native, please follow this guide.
Please be aware that Make It Native can no longer be used in older Mendix versions. To continue testing apps in, for example, Mendix 10.24, please create a custom Make It Native app or a Custom Developer app.
Keeping your native mobile application up to date is essential for leveraging the latest capabilities and maintaining mobile operating system compatibility. We recommend updating your native mobile app every 6-12 months as explained in this guide.
Download and upload files in offline-first apps
Offline-first applications are all about delivering a smooth experience, even when connectivity is unavailable. Until now, there was no straightforward way to upload or download files stored in your Mendix domain model while offline. Developers often had to rely on custom JavaScript workarounds to achieve this.
With this release, we are introducing full support for downloading and uploading files in web-based, offline-first apps. It is now possible to use the FileManager widget to let users upload or download files, and the Download File action is also available in nanoflows. With these improvements, it is now much easier to build offline-first apps that can handle custom files.
We’re actively working on support for native mobile apps and will have it available soon.
Streaming business events to your data lake (Beta)
We will be releasing a new Mendix Event Broker Bridge in beta that allows you to stream selected business events to your data lake on Azure or AWS. The bridge allows you to define the location of your AWS S3 blob storage or Azure Blobstorage, select the business events you want to stream there, and then start the bridge. This will automatically stream the selected business events in near real-time to your data lake where they are stored in JSON format. This allows you to easily use the business events in external analytics tools or save them for auditing purposes.
OQL
OQL is the Mendix query language that enables you to performantly work with large amounts of application data, both for reading, and as of 11.6, also for updating your data. In 11.7 we extend the functionality of OQL DML, Data Manipulation Language, to insert multiple objects with associations. For example, if you’re inserting orderlines using OQL you can include the association to the relevant order in the same OQL INSERT statement.
We’ve also updated the Marketplace OQL module to support OQL DML statements, so you no longer need to use the Mendix Java APIs to benefit from OQL DML statements to change data. Later this year we will also add OQL DML support in Studio Pro to make the developer experience even easier.
One last improvement we’ve made for OQL is to add support for comments. You can now add comments in your OQL to ensure your coworkers easily understand the queries. Or, when generating OQL queries using Maia, Maia can add comments inside the generated OQL queries, so it’s easier for you to review and understand the queries.

Marketplace
Eliminate guesswork and security risks by clearly identifying production-ready components across your entire marketplace. Developers can now rely on a unified “Company Approved” label to distinguish between official internal components and experimental or training resources.
What’s changed:
- Extended Labeling: We’ve enabled the “Company Approved” status for private Marketplace components, ensuring internal governance matches your public component standards.
- Unified Studio Pro Filtering: Updated the Studio Pro filter to display both public and private approved content in a single view.
If you manage a large team with many internal-only components, you no longer have to worry about developers accidentally using a “sandbox” or “training” module in a production app. By using the “Company Approved” filter in Studio Pro, your developers see a curated, safe list of everything they are allowed to use—whether it’s a public or private component.

Improvements to the SCIM User Management Module
Our SCIM module now supports a broader set of standard user attributes, making automated end-user onboarding more complete. Applications can now receive attributes such as displayName, preferred language, locale, timezone, and profile URL, enabling better personalization even before the very first login. By extending our support for the SCIM core schema, we keep integrations with Entra ID and Okta simple while giving developers richer profile data out of the box.
We’ve also improved the way SCIM behaves across development and deployment stages. Previously, removing a SCIM client left behind all users it had created, making it hard to transition from test to production identity providers. With this release, admins can now view all users associated with a specific SCIM client, remove them in bulk, and then safely delete the client. This creates a clean, predictable workflow for managing SCIM configurations across environments.
Together, these enhancements make SCIM easier to adopt, easier to manage, and more reliable for organizations of all sizes.
Mendix Cloud GenAI: Adjust your GenAI resource plan as demand changes
Does your application token demand change over time? With the newly introduced self-service plan adjustment, you can upgrade or downgrade your text and embedding model plans to cater for your ideal token demand. With this, you can ensure that your GenAI resources are properly utilized.

You can adjust the resource plan as a Company Admin in Control Center as a self-service capability. Under this flow, you can either select to upgrade the resource plan or downgrade the resource plan by selecting a suitable plan. The upgrading would be immediately effective while downgrade will be effective by the end of your current subscription month.
Visualizing AI’s chain-of-thought: Gantt Chart for Traces
Understanding how AI systems arrive at their conclusions can be complex. Our new Gantt chart representation transforms this complexity into an intuitive, visual timeline which makes it easier than ever to comprehend the step-by-step generation process behind AI responses.
This feature is part of our Conversational UI module and available in the GenAI Showcase Application (as well as all other starter apps after enabling), ready for you to explore and test. Whether you’re building conversational experiences or optimizing AI workflows, this visual insight puts powerful understanding at your fingertips.
Better performance and reduced latency with Streamable HTTP transport for MCP
Streaming data efficiently is critical for real-time AI applications. Our new Streamable HTTP transport is coming to replace the previous HTTP+SSE approach with a more modern, flexible solution that delivers better performance and reduced latency. We have added support for this transport method to both our MCP Client and MCP Server modules. The new transport method is applied for the server per default from version 4.0.0 and when selecting the 2025-03-26 protocol version during configuration of a client.
