Q’go Launches a Scalable Native Mobile Travel Ecosystem with Mendix and KASP to Improve Personalization
The travel industry is evolving at unprecedented speed. Post-pandemic behavior shifts, rising price sensitivity, sustainability demands, and rapid advances in AI and automation are redefining customer expectations.
For Q’go Group, this disruption created opportunity to deliver a more seamless, digital experience.
Founded in 1984, Q’go is a Kuwait-based ISO-certified travel management and cargo company known for comfort, luxury, and affordability. But in a market shaped by digital leaders like Expedia, standing out requires more than strong service. It requires full digital control.
In 2017, Q’go began its transformation by adopting Mendix and partnering with KASP to build a mobile-first platform that turned digital transformation into a long-term competitive advantage.
Flying High with Low Code
Before arriving at your destination, there are dozens of moving parts powering every trip:
- Comparing flight options
- Coordinating local transport
- Booking accommodation
- Selecting seats
- Securing add-ons
For travelers, it should feel relatively simple. Behind the scenes, it rarely is. For Q’go, simplifying that complexity became a strategic priority. At the same time, airlines, hotels, and aggregators operate on fragmented legacy systems and APIs making integration both essential and challenging.

To keep pace, Q’go needed more than incremental digital upgrades. It needed the agility to rapidly launch new services while maintaining full control over its brand, roadmap, and customer experience.
Off-the-shelf market solutions introduced vendor lock-in and limited flexibility. Innovation depended on someone else’s release cycle. Low code was the most viable path forward.
Q’go ultimately chose Mendix as the catalyst for its digital transformation. The platform offered:
- Enterprise-grade reliability and security
- Native mobile capabilities
- Flexibility to integrate with diverse travel aggregators
- Learning paths for local teams to lead internal development
“The low-code approach simplifies implementation while still allowing control over logic and integrations,” said Mayssam Dabbous, Acting General Manager.
With support from Mendix Expert Services and implementation partner KASP, Q’go enabled its local teams, built confidence in the platform, and established a scalable foundation for long-term innovation.
Low code became more than a faster way to deliver solutions. It became the engine behind Q’go’s ability to adapt in one of the world’s most unpredictable industries.
The One-stop-shop for Travelers
Development of the new digital platform began in late 2023. Less than one year later, the solution was live thanks to deliberate architectural planning, rapid iteration, and close collaboration between business and IT.
The scope was ambitious.
Q’go set out to integrate its vast and complex ecosystem to provide a personalized, one-stop-shop for travelers. Yet, in many cases, more than one aggregator powered a single service category. The new platform would need to not only to surface results but also maintain clear traceability between each offering and its source system. This would ensure transparency, flexibility, and optimized performance.
This complexity required more than integration. It required orchestration.
“We were able to manage, enhance, and evolve the application much faster than with traditional development approaches,” said Salah Nahl, Vice President of Strategy and Execution at KASP.

Before finalizing the architecture, the team built multiple prototypes and experimented with different deployment models. While the platform expanded, performance became a priority.
“Stakeholders have shared positive feedback around the stability of the solution and our speed, while end users appreciate the clear flows and ease of use,” Nahl explained.
The Q’go Online platform now provides comprehensive tools for travelers to:
- Search and compare prices across hotels, airlines, and travel agencies
- Manage itineraries, view booking details, and access support
- Receive real-time alerts with the mobile app
- Explore unique activities like sports packages, villas, and sightseeing
By making each user’s experience unique to their preferences, Q’go is ensuring travelers save time, receive personalized recommendations, and ultimately improve their satisfaction. No more decision fatigue, unnecessary information, or lack of visibility.
The collaboration between Q’go and KASP extended beyond development. Using Mendix Epics, SCRUM boards, and project management tools, the teams managed requirements, ideation, testing, and deployment through a structured cycle.
“The Q’go team was involved in Sprint reviews and weekly status meetings to be closely associated with the development team,” Nahl said.
This operating model ensured continuous alignment between strategic vision and technical execution, transforming the platform from a single application into a scalable digital portfolio built to evolve alongside the travel market.
A Seamless Experiences Across Platforms
Q’go serves a diverse customer base, each with different expectations, booking behaviors, and device preferences. Delivering a consistent experience across web and mobile was nonnegotiable.
The solution was to build both a responsive web platform and native iOS and Android applications using Mendix.
“One of the key decisions we made to accelerate delivery was avoiding heavy platform-specific customization, which helped us move faster while still providing a consistent user experience,” Nahl said.
To maintain operational control of the mobile version, Q’go developed a dedicated monitoring application used internally to manage and oversee the broader portfolio. Infrastructure was deployed on AWS, where the platform has operated without performance issues or downtime.

Q’go’s success extends beyond uptime. A key success indicator is the response rate to metasearch engines such as Wego.
“This is crucial to ensure Q’go results appear regularly, and that metric was met from day one,” Dabbous said.
Maintaining Consistency Across the Portfolio
As the application landscape expanded, Q’go formalized its governance model to ensure speed did not compromise quality.
The team implemented standardized templates, reusable modules, and common integration frameworks to promote reuse across applications.
“For long-term maintainability, we design applications with clear separation of concerns, keep logic modular, and ensure changes are easy to implement and test,” Dabbous said. “This allows us to scale the Mendix portfolio efficiently while keeping technical debt under control.”
Notably, Q’go adopted Mendix’s Digital Execution Practice (DEP) framework. The structured methodology ensured transformation initiatives remained tied to measurable objectives and enterprise priorities.
The result is not just a multi-channel travel platform, but a governed, scalable digital ecosystem built for performance today and adaptability tomorrow.
The Future Itinerary
Q’go’s transformation is not just about modernizing travel booking.
Together, Q’go and KASP are now exploring how AI and machine learning can further elevate the traveler experience and operational efficiency. With Mendix enabling built-in AI capabilities, more complex API integrations, and conversational UI features, the platform opens new possibilities for intelligent personalization, pricing optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
The journey has also strengthened KASP’s capabilities as a growing Mendix partner. “Overall, the experience has made our team more efficient, confident, and capable of taking on larger and more complex projects in the future,” Nahl shared.
For Q’go, the impact has been equally transformative.
