Today marks a major milestone in the history of Mendix. This morning, we announced the closing of a $25 million Series B investment led by Battery Ventures along with our existing investor Prime Ventures. The funding will be used to fuel our continued global expansion, product innovation and customer success.
First and foremost, I would like to thank you—the Mendix community. You are the reason we are where we are today. Without a passionate and devoted community of users, customers, and partners, we certainly would not have reached this landmark. You trusted in us and our vision, and you’ve built business applications in spades.
When my co-founders and I started Mendix eight years ago, it was a small company with a big goal: to disrupt enterprise application development. We saw firsthand how painful the development process can be from the business side and we set out to find a better way. Since then, our focus has been on providing an app platform that enables the fastest, easiest, and most collaborative way to deliver custom business applications.
Over the years, it’s been rewarding to watch the Mendix community grow and see so many of you solve complex business problems using our platform. What consistently amazes me is not just how quickly you build applications but the concrete impact you have on your business. And many of you are heroes within your organizations as a result.
With this latest round of funding, we plan to step up our R&D investments to ensure you get even more value from our platform. We’ll also invest in the growth and enablement of our developer community, helping even more companies around the world to rapidly deliver custom enterprise apps so they can capitalize on opportunities to innovate and differentiate themselves. With such a large investment, I truly believe that the sky is the limit for the Mendix community and the aPaaS market.
So thank you again for being a part of the Mendix journey. We are already working hard to ensure the next phase is even more exciting and rewarding than the last. Stay tuned.
CEO and Co-founder, Mendix
